Our URECA student Chwee Yun Hui presented her URECA project at the World Conference of Undergraduate Research in April 2023. She discussed her findings on whether children learnt about novel categories better when pedagogical questions, compared to naive questions, are used. Well done and congratulations to Yun Hui!

Radio Interview: The impact of COVID-19 on children’s mental health
The IACCP seeks to advance our understanding of how culture and psychology intersect. Our Research Scientists, Dr. Yu Yue and Dr. Yang Yang, had the privilege of presenting their studies' findings about children's endorsement of free choice and children's understanding of emotion cues from auditory stimuli at the 2024 IACCP International Congress. Lab News: International Association for Cross Cultural Psychology (IACCP) International Congress 2024
Dr. Yu Yue was interviewed by Hello Singapore (狮城有约) on MediaCorp Channel 8 where he spoke about how limiting play areas at HDB void decks would affect children's physical and emotional development, and the problems it might bring. He also suggested some possible solutions to transform void decks to be more inclusive of all age groups.

Our Research Scientists Dr. Yu Yue and Dr. Yang Yang presented at the SRCD in March 2023. Dr. Yu shared about how parental autonomy granting correlated with Singaporean Chinese and Malay children's endorsement of free will.
