Celia is a NTU Psychology graduate who enjoys interacting with children. She joined the team with the hopes of gaining research experience and learning more about developmental psychology through practical involvement with children. Amanda Chia Ching Ling
Class of 2024
Amanda is a penultimate student aspiring to work in the field of Psychology academia. She is keen in exploring the myriad of factors that underlie a child’s development and the different pathways that may emerge from this complex process. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys dancing and playing tennis.
Chrysie Tay Wen Wei
Class of 2024
Chrysie is a Year 4 Psychology undergraduate who enjoys interacting with children. She is intrigued about the different stages of a child’s development and is interested to understand more about how children’s mentality changes as they grow up. By joining the NIE Child Development Studies, Chrysie hopes to gain more knowledge and experience in child psychology and research in general.
Kaelyn Foo Yah Wen
Class of 2024
Kaelyn is a Year 4 psychology undergraduate who loves working with children, and their child-like wonder and curiosity to explore the world inspires her to want to learn more about them. She is interested in learning more about children's socio-emotional development, especially during their interactions with others, and seeks to explore how infant experiences shape experiences later on in life. During her time here, Kaelyn hopes to gain more in-depth understanding in this field as well as gain valuable research experience.
Koh Jing Han
Class of 2024
Jing Han is a dynamic Y4 psychology undergraduate with a passion for understanding human behaviour. She has previously worked on projects on face perception, as well as stress mindset amongst secondary school students. While she's fascinated by cognitive psychology, her curiosity extends to child developmental psychology. When she's not studying, Jing Han unleashes her creativity through singing, cooking, photo editing and crafting. She loves experimenting with new recipes, but her true passion lies in singing. There, she can get lost in the music and bring her ideas to life.
Ong Jing Ting
Class of 2024
Jing Ting is an undergraduate in NTU studying Psychology. She enjoyed teaching part-time at an enrichment centre during her school term and discovered her interest in children’s development after taking a module on Developmental Psychology. She is interested in how the beliefs children have about themselves and their abilities affect their potential to learn and overcome challenges. In her free time, she likes to go on walks, meet up with friends, and play with her baby niece.
Ong Tze Yee, Claire
Class of 2024
Claire is currently a Year 4 Psychology student at NTU. She loves working with children and serving the community, and she volunteers in Taman Jurong Youth Network. During her free time, she likes to paint, crochet, and spend quality time with her dog ~ Because of her experience teaching children and her interest in psychology, she hopes to work in special needs education in the future!
Rena Tan
Class of 2024
Rena is a Year 4 Psychology undergraduate in NTU. She loves working with children and is interested in understanding them better. Her research interests include investigating the various social factors that underlie children’s behaviour, with the hope that it will reveal ways to capitalise on these factors to bring out the best in children. At the same time, she hopes to hone her research skills and increase her exposure in the field of child development.
Sun Pei Li

Pei Li is currently a final year Psychology student at NTU and is very interested in working with children and youth, as well as learning more about the field of mental health. In her time here, she hopes to gain more research experience and more insights into parent-child interactions. She enjoys trying new foods, exploring new places and journaling.
Tan Heng Hong

Heng Hong is a Year 4 Psychology Undergraduate in NTU. She is interested in areas of personality, health and social psychology. She spends lots of her time with her cousins and seeks to learn more about the interactions between children's experiences and their environment as well.
Jasmine Ho May Shan

Jasmine is currently a third-year psychology undergraduate at NTU, where she has the opportunity to delve into her passion for understanding human behaviour and the underlying motivations that guide our actions. She is also interested in exploring the factors that can impact a youth's developmental milestones. In her free time, she enjoys playing games and engaging in sports!
Lee Jo Xi
Class of 2025
Jo Xi is currently a third-year psychology undergraduate with aspirations of becoming a psychologist. Interacting with children brings him happiness, as he has always been intrigued by how simple yet imaginative and optimistic children's thoughts can be. Through his involvement in this research team, his aim is to not only broaden his exposure and knowledge in the field of child psychology but also to gain a better understanding of himself, who was once a child too.
Ng Kai Li
Class of 2025
Kai Li is a Year 4 Psychology student, with an interest towards developmental psychology and working with children. She is interested in the study of parenting practices, childhood emotional literacy, and mother-child interactions. She has previously worked on projects such as intergenerational continuity of maternal neglect, mothers' affectionate touches with their infants, and how bilingual babies acquire language. In her free time, she likes to jam with friends and try out new recipes!
Sawant Sachi Vilas
Class of 2025
Sachi is a Year 3 psychology undergraduate student curious about how cognitive science research informs community health initiatives. She loves interacting with children and teaches them at STEM summer camps. Sachi explores neuro-cognitive growth and childhood religious beliefs in the DBN project. She seeks to gain valuable insight into developmental psychology and further hone her research skills at NIE Child Development Studies!
Seah Yi Lin
Class of 2025
Yi Lin is a Year 3 Psychology and Media Analytics undergraduate at NTU. Since a young age, she has been fascinated with human behaviour and how people’s perceptions and actions are constantly shaped by factors around them. Today, her passion lies in social and developmental psychology, particularly on why and how child development can be impacted by social and cultural influences. At the NIE Centre for Research in Child Development, she wishes to hone her research skills and deepen her knowledge in this field alongside like-minded individuals.
Sum Ming Jie Ursula
Class of 2025
Ursula enjoys working with children and works as a junior therapist for children with special needs. Other than that, she learns various art forms (e.g., water painting) in her own time and as art of her university curriculum.
Tan Amanda

Amanda  is a 3rd  Year Psychology undergraduate in NTU and is interested in the field of developmental and clinical psychology. She is passionate about mental health in youth and is keen to learn how to develop emotion-processing skills and healthy coping mechanisms in younger children. In her free time, she enjoys watching nature documentaries, hiking, and travelling around Japan (where she had her student exchange).
Tan Xuan Pei Candace

Candace is a Y3 Psychology undergraduate in NTU with a budding interest in clinical neuropsychology. In her time here, she hopes to gain exposure to different aspects of child psychology and keep up with new findings and hone her competencies in research. She enjoys reading and journaling and is always open to book recommendations!
Charmaine Leow Shu Yan

Charmaine is a Year 2 Psychology undergraduate deeply interested in children’s holistic development, as well as mental health in youths. Enthusiastic on embarking on the research of children’s early experiences, she hopes to gain practical research experience in developmental psychology. In her free time, Charmaine can be found at museums or writing fiction and poetry.
Hannah Lucia Valencia Anasco

Hannah is a Year 2 Biological Sciences and Psychology undergraduate. She was inspired by her friendships to help people through a better understanding of mental health, and how intergenerational relationships and the formative years of childhood affect emotional and psychological well-being. She is also interested in exploring the threats that the digital age could pose to world mental health, especially in children. During her time here, she hopes to learn more about developmental psychology and research techniques. In her free time, she likes making music and watching movies!
Ip Jia Ying

Jia Ying is a current Year 2 undergraduate, majoring in Psychology with a 2nd Major in Biological Sciences. She is interested in pursuing a career in clinical psychology but loves working with children and learning more about developmental psychology! By joining this research, she hopes to attain more knowledge on research, as well as learn more about children and their emotional development.
Isaac Teo Weibin

Isaac is a Year 2 Psychology undergraduate in NTU and is interested in the fields of educational psychology, cognitive development, and learning disabilities. With a passion for understanding children and the desire to promote their well-being and optimal development, Isaac seeks to gain practical research experience in child psychology. Outside of his course, he enjoys painting, exercise, and music.
Lim Hon Hwa, Ryan
Class of 2026
Ryan is a Year 2 Psychology undergraduate at NTU. He enjoys teaching children and finds working with children to be an interesting experience as every child is unique. He hopes that research concerning children's emotion regulation can shed light on ways to support children in this aspect, alleviating the pains arising from the struggles faced during childhood that children might not be able to articulate fully. He also wishes to learn more about the intricacies within the research field, specifically child development.
Sheryn Sim Sue Ning

Sheryn is a Year 2 Psychology undergraduate who is currently exploring her interests in the field, one of them being child development. She is keen to learn more about how children’s early experiences shape their perceptions of themselves and the world around them. In her free time, Sheryn loves to binge shows (Brooklyn 99!) and hang out with her dog.
